Kave Home invests 45 million to expand its logistics platform

The company owned by the Julià family is starting construction on the second phase of the Tordera complex (Barcelona), which will have a total area of 90,000 square meters by the end of 2028.

The Catalan furniture and decoration company Kave Home is activating the expansion project of its logistics platform in Tordera (Barcelona) with the aim of “accompanying the growth of the company”, says Francesc Julià Ametller, CEO of the family-owned firm and member of the second generation, in statements to EXPANSIÓN.

Kave Home will invest €45 million in the second phase of the complex, which will have a total storage area of 90,000 square meters by the end of 2028, when construction is expected to be completed. “With this project, we are doubling our logistics capacity,” Julià emphasizes. To develop the project, the company has contracted the services of the Austrian multinational TGW Logistics. Its technology guarantees the complete automation of logistics processes, from receiving to shipping, the company states.

“We are in a sector that needs a lot of cubic meters,” explains the CEO of Kave Home, who estimates that the Tordera facilities are currently at about 90% of their capacity, although occupancy levels fluctuate.

The first phase of the logistics platform required an investment of 45 million euros, including the prior urbanization work of the land, and entered service in mid-2023.

Months later, in early 2024, Kave Home sold the complex to the German real estate management company Aquila Capital for approximately €100 million in a sale-leaseback transaction. Under this arrangement, the company operates the facilities under a lease agreement, freeing up funds to finance its activities. The transaction also stipulates that Aquila will acquire ownership of the second phase of the complex once its construction is complete.

Growth

When Kave Home opened its Tordera platform in 2023, its consolidated revenue was €216 million. In just two years, sales have increased by 48%, reaching €321 million in 2025. Francesc Julià anticipates that revenue will grow by over 20% this year, despite the geopolitical environment. This figure includes revenue from the online business and the professional channel, which focuses on decorating hotels and restaurants.

Points of sale

Kave Home is headquartered in Sils (Girona) and has a furniture factory in Yecla (Murcia). The company distributes its products through a network of retail outlets that comprised 159 stores in 2025. This year, that number is expected to exceed 200, according to Francesc Julià’s forecasts. A small number are company-owned, while the rest are franchised outlets or distributors of the brand.

The brand debuted this year in Belgium with its own store in Ghent and, through franchises, has landed in the Dominican Republic and Serbia, and plans to do so also in Peru, Norway and Iceland, its CEO points out.

Energy self-consumption

The Tordera logistics platform has 800 square meters of photovoltaic panels that allowed Kave Home to cover 26% of its energy consumption last year. The photovoltaic plant will be expanded with the second phase of the center.
